Pirq Launches iPhone App

Kirkland-based Pirq, the daily deals site run by James Sun, said today that its iPhone App has just gone live on Apple's App Store. The firm is developing a daily deals app, providing real-time discounts to dining businesses, based on location. Sun said an Android app will folow soon. Pirq had said it would launch its service in June, but had not yet launched its app. As part of the launch, Pirq said it has integrated Microsoft's Tag technology into the app, using the technology as part of the coupon redemption process. Sun is known for his appearance on "The Apprentice". Pirq goes up against Groupon and other daily deals site, in particular, Groupon's Groupon Now location-based deals service.
