Pirq Takes On Hunger In King County

Seattle-based smart phone deals app maker Pirq, the newest venture of entrepreneur James Sun, said today that it has tied with the United Way of King County, to help give back to the community. Pirq said it will donate 10 percent of its revenues from consumers dining at more than 130 dining locations throughout the Puget Sound, via a link with the United Way of King County. Funds raised through the program will go to provide food to those in the community who need it. Pirq said the move was inspired by a personal challenge from Bill Gates to founder James Sun, where Gates challenged local tech entrepreneurs at a recent event to give back to the community. Pirq develops an iPhone app which provides discounts to local restaurants, based on a user's location.
