Private Equity Firm: G5's $76M Recapitalization Aimed At Growth

Private equity investor Peak Equity Partners, the lead investor in the recently announced, $76M funding of Bend, Oregon-based G5, says it is looking forward to helping G5 with its growth plans. The companies disclosed today that the deal was a recapitalization, rather than a direct investment in the company. None of the terms of that recap have been announced. Recapitalizations typically are used to buy out existing shareholders or founders, as opposed to a typical growth funding, which would leave existing investors in place, with more of those new funds being used for operations. G5 is a developer of marketing software for property managers. The company's prior investor was Volition Capital, and the company was co-founded by Dan Hobin and Greg Meier.
