Rover.com Pinpoints Top Dog Names

Seattle-based online dog sitting and dog walking marketplace Rover.com, which is led by CEO Aaron Easterly, has rolled out its own list the top dog names for 2016, saying that people apparently are naming their dogs the same names they pick for their human babies. The top male name for 2016 for a dog is "Max"--also a popular baby name--and the top female name is "Bella"--equally popular for human babies. Easterly said in a release that the names make sense as pet owners have begun to think of themselves as "pet parents" and that dogs are part of their families. The top few names for male dogs were: 1. Max, 2. Charlie, 3. Buddy, 4. Cooper, 5. Jack. For females, the top names were 1. Bella, 2. Lucy, 3. Daily, 4. Lola, and 5. Luna. Farther down the list in terms of rising popularity were names inspired by such pop culture themes as Pokemon Go, and Hamilton.
