Schrodinger Gets Funding

Portland-based Schrodinger, a firm focused on computational drug design for the pharmaceuticals and biotechnology research industry, said today that it has scored an investment from Cascade Investment, LLC, the investment firm of Bill Gates. Gates told the WSJ this week that the deal was worth $10M. Schrodinger has offices and operations in Portland, New York, San Diego, and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Schrodinger said its software has been used by "nearly every" major pharmaceutical firm worldwide for chemical simulation.
