Spaceflight Industries Gets Investment From Thales Alenia Space, Telespazio

Seattle-based Spaceflight Industries, which helps launch satellite payloads into space, has scored a minority investment round from two aerospace companies, Thales Alenia Space and Telespazio, as part of its effort to launch its own, constellation of 60, high-resolution earth observation satellites. According to The Space Alliance, formed by Thales Alenia Space and Telespazio, they are in a joint marketing agreement which will focus on production of small satellites for Spaceflight's BlackSky satellite constellation. Financial details of that investment and business deal were not announced by the companies. Spaceflight said the partnership will help it fund its constellation, minimize its product risk, and reduce its time to market.
