Zango Settles Complaint With FTC

Seattle-based Zango, the adware firm formerly known as 180solutions, has settled a suit with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, according to a statement by the FTC. The FTC said that Zango will pay a $3M fine and that it has barred future downloads of Zango's adware without consumers' consent, and required Zango to provide a way for consumers to remove the adware. The complaint also named Keith Smith and Daniel Todd, the firm's principals, in the suit. More information »
