Mentor Graphics, UMC Partners On Design

Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics, a supplier of hardware and software for the electronic design industry, and UMC, a semiconductor foundry, said this week that the two have made a new reference flow for analog mixed-signal, signal-on-chip (SoC) designs. The new flow outlines the way to develop analog mixed-signal chips for hardware designers, used for developing wireless, RF, and other mixed-signal designs. The design provides a methodology covering system level partioning through system validation. Mentor's software is used by hardware designers in the electronic design automation (EDA) process. UMC is a major semiconductor fab that manufacturers chips for other companies.
