Kryptiq Gets Patents

Portland, Oregon-based Kryptiq is reporting this morning that it has been awarded two new patents for its technology. According to the firm, the two patents cover selective encryption of electronic messages and data, and customizing messages to prevent spam email. The patents are patent No. 7469340, entitled "Selective Encryption of Electronic Messages and Data," and patent No. 7461397, entitled "Customized Electronic Messaging." The U.S. Patent and Trademark office granted the first patent on December 23rd, to Murali M. Karamchedu, Jeffrey B. Sponaugle, and Luis Machuca. That patent was originally filed in 2003. The second patent came from Karamchedu and Sponaugle, and was filed in 2004 and granted on December 2nd. Kryptiq said both patents are part of its core technology, used for connecting healthcare organizations and sharing patient information in the healthcare industry.
