Clearwire Exec Joins WiMax Board

The WiMax Forum, the industry group overseeing the compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless products based upon the WiMax (802.16e/ETSI) standard, disclosed this morning that it has added a Clearwire exec to its board, along with a number of others. According to the forum, it has added Ali Tabassi, Senior Vice President of Global Ecosystem and Standards for Clearwire to its board. Tabassi was appointed to the group's board along with execs from Comcast, Hauwei, and Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). Clearwire is creating a wireless network based on the WiMax standard.
