Mentor Graphics Takes On Automotive Market

Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics, a developer of design software, said Monday that the firm has announced a new product targeted at the automotive design market. According to the firm, its new Volcano Vehicle Systems Architect (VSA) is targeted at system and embedded software design for the AUTOSAR standard. AUTOSAR is a standard being used by the car manufacturing industry for electronics, semiconductor, and software. Mentor said its new VSA software can be used by engineers to design, explore, and compare electronic and software architectures.
