Verdiem Ties Into Microsoft System Center

Seattle-based Verdiem, a developer of PC power management software, said this morning that the firm has tied its products into Microsoft's System Center, Microsoft's enterprise configuration management software. According to Verdiem, it has shipped a new Power Management Pack which works with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manger 2007. The new software allows IT managers to control PCs on their network, including manually waking up, shutting down, or restarting machines on a network and throttling PC wakeups to save energy. Verdeim's software is used to measure and control PC power consumption. The firm is venture backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
