Amazon Expands Packaging Effort

Amazon.com is extending its efforts to cut down on excess and frustrating packaging, saying today that it has extended its "Frustration-Free" packaging efforts to the toy area. The firm, which launched the effort last month with a number of electronics manufacturers, said today that it has teamed up with Fisher-Price and Mattel to provide easier-to-open toys from the two manufacturers. The program initially includes what Amazon described as the 10 "top new toys" from the two firms. The effort is also focused on providing more environmentally friendly packaging options, which reduces the amount of extraneous packaging with toys, and collects consumer input on that packaging.
