LaCie Taps Designer Phillippe Starck For Drive Line

LaCie, the external disk drive manufacturer with U.S. headquarters in Hillsboro, Oregon, has taken a page from Target's playbook, saying today that it is rolling out a branded line of hard disk drives in partnership with designer Philippe Starck. The firm said that it has created the LaCie Starck Desktop Hard Drive and the LaCie Starck Mobile Hard Drive, two products which were designed by Philippe Starck. The aluminum-encased hard drives include a LED status light with Starck's signature symbol. LaCie is targeting both the PC and Mac markets with the USB drives, which range from 320Gb to 2TB.
