RealNetworks Ties With Syniverse Technologies

Seattle-based RealNetworks is in a alliance with Syniverse Technologies, a provider of services to the telecom industry, the firms said today. According to Syniverse and RealNetworks, Syniverse will use Real's intercarrier short message service (SMS) platform to power Syniverse's peer-to-peer (P2P) messaging interoperability solutions. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Real will support the core message processing software and services for the SMS service, while Syniverse will implement, manage, and maintain SMS interoperability for the offering.
