Walmart Fires Free Holiday Shipping Salvo At Amazon

Looking to gain an early edge over retailer Amazon.com, Walmart said this morning that it will begin offering up free shipping on around 60,000 holiday items at the firm's web site. Walmart said it will offer free shipping on all electronics, select video games, home appliances, furniture, jewelry, baby items, and more. The firm said there are no minimum purchase requirements on the offer. The new offer is a direct challenge to Amazon, the firm's primary online competitor.
