Gist Hits Gmail

Seattle-based Gist, the developer of software for pulling up information about contacts in email and other applications, said today that it has added support for Gmail, with a new Firefox plug-in. According to Gist, the firm's new software provides pictures, social network, work details, and contact information for everyone in an email thread, when users are using Gmail. Gist said the new plug-in requires Firefox versions 3.5 or higher, and includes status updates from social networks like Twitter and Facebook, along with blog posts. Gist is venture backed by The Foundry Group and Vulcan Capital.
