Amazon Backs HP webOS With Kindle App

Seattle-based Amazon is backing up the release of HP's new tablet device, the HP TouchPad, saying it will be releasing a versin of its Kindle app on the webOS operating system. Amazon said the app will debut sometime this summer. HP launcheds its TouchPad device today, a competitor to Apple's popular iPad device. Amazon supports Kindle applications across its own hardware, as well as the iPad, iPod touch, iPhone, PC, Mac, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7, and Android-based devices.
