Bookbyte In Classroom Learning Pilot

Salem, Oregon-based Bookbyte, an online retailer of new and used textbooks, said MOnday that it has launched a digital learning pilot project with Portland Public Schools, the largest school district in Oregon. The firm said it is providing 70 Apple iPads for in-school use by fourth and fifth grade students at Lewis Elementary School in Portland. The students will access a custom built, curriculum-based application, as well as commercial applications, to focus on math and literacy vocabulary. Financial details of the pilot project were not disclosed.
