OS Nexus Powers SoftLayer

Mercer Island, Washington-based OS Nexus, a startup developing storage products which support iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and NFS, is powering a new offering from managed hosting provider SoftLayer. SoftLayer said today that it is launching its QuantaStor Storage Server serviec, which will provide dedicated, high performance storage to its dedicated hosting products. The new offering is based on technology offerings from OS Nexus, which was founded by Steven Umberhocker and Charles Egerton in January of last year. Financial details of the deal were not announced. Umberhocker was a Engineering Director at Citrix Systems and Technical Director at Symantec / VERITAS Software.
