Intermec Chops 170 In Restructuring

Everett, Washington-based Intermec, the developer of RFID tracking systems, bar code printers, and other related products, said late Tuesday that it has chopped 170 positions, or 7 percent of its workforce, in a corporate restructuring. Intermec said the move comes to lower its costs, particularly in the general and administrative and support areas. The company said the move will "better align" its cost structure. The company said it expects the cuts to save it approximately $19M to $21M annually.
