Quest Inspar Gets $4.2M In Funding For Underground Robots

Washington appears to be the hotbed for robots this week, as Quest Inspar, a developer of robots used to fix and inspect underground pipelines, said today that it has raised $4.2M in funding. The company--which says it is building its next generation robots in Kent, Washington at its engineering center--develops robots which fix holes in underground pipelines and install structural lining, as an alternative to very expensive pipe replacement projects. The company's headquarters are based in Houston, Texas. Quest Inspar said it recently completed a big project in Tacoma, replacing a 77-year old segment of water supply line in the city.
