Belkin's WeMo Labs Sets Up Shop In Seattle

Consumer electronics accessory and products developer Belkin International said this morning that it has expanded its operations in Seattle, with a new group called WeMo Labs, focused on the Internet of Things. According to Belkin the new lab is an exxpansion of its existing, Seattle-based software group. The new team will work closely with the University of Washington developing sensing and machine learning technology. Belkin said it has had offices in Seattle since 2010, when it acuqired Seattle tech nology startup Zensi, which is the basis of the company's Internet of Things efforts. Belkin also said it acquired a small local software team in 2013 through its purchase of Linksys.
