Microsoft Gets Cozy With Connected Car Partners

Microsoft Corp. is at CES today, trumpeting a number of partnerships it is announcing with connected car partners--as a slew of automotive makers, hardware companies, software companies, and other have shown up at CES with their own connected car announcements. Microsoft said it has linked up with Volvo Cars, Nissan, Harman, and IAV on a series of connected car announcements, including an integration which lets users of the Microsoft Band 2 start their Volvo via a voice command; access to Office 365 from Harman's infotainment systems; streaming of Windows 10 via IAV; and more. Microsoft says it already has connected car partnership with such partners as Toyota, Ford, Qoros, Delphi, and others.
