Amazon Makes Waves In Hollywood, Pays $15M For Woody Allen Film

Amazon.com is making some big waves in Hollywood, after details emerged that the company paid $15M for the rights to the latest Woody Allen film, which has as yet to be named. According to the Hollywood Reporter, a trade publication which closely tracks Hollywood films, the $15M is more than three times what Allen got for his last film from Sony, and is considered a big deal for an independent filmmaker. Amazon announced it had acquired the latest Woody Allen film -- which will run both in traditional theaters, and then become exclusive to Prime Video--last week.
