Socrata Powers Crime Reports Service

Seattle-based Socrata, the developer of software to help citizens access government data, is helping to power a crime reporting and mapping application from Motorola Solutions, the two said today. The companies said that Motorola Solutions CrimeReports is being powered by Socrata, and is being used by 1,100 law enforcement agencies to provide crime information to users on smart phones, tablets, and computers. Financial details of the partnership were not announced. The two said the tool allows citizens to see maps, charts, graphs, and trend tools, broken down by crime type, geographic area, and more.
