Seattle Takes Aim At Airbnb

Saying that services like Airbnb and VRBO are eating into Seattle's affordable housing supply, Mayor Ed Murray and Seattle City Councilmember Tim Burgess are proposing new rules to restrict who can rent out their homes and rooms via the popular peer-to-peer marketplaces. The two would severely restrict property investors using the sites, with broader rules for owners where those properties are their primary residences.
