Kymeta Provides Internet-at-Sea For US Government Customer

Redmond-based satellite technology developer Kymeta said late last week that it has just completed a month-long trial at sea for an un-named, U.S. government customer. According to Kymeta, the trial was on small watercraft with a U.S. Government customer using its KALO satellite internet service, plus its KyWay satellite terminals. Financial details of the trial were not announced. The service, powered by partner Intelsat, covered small boats which operated everywhere from inland waterways to as far as 100 miles offshore, according to Kymeta.
