Tango Card Adds $1.8M

Seattle-based Tango Card, the provider of flexible, digital gift cards, has raised $1.8M in an expansion of its Series A financing round. According to the company, the round added Innovation Endeavors, the investment fund of Eric Schmidt, and also Western Technology Investment. The firm said the new funding round will go to hire software developers and expand its software applications. Tango Card also said it has added Randy Fennel as its CTO; Fennell was previously GM of Technology at Westpac, and also had been IT Director working on the Boeing Joint Strike Fighter. Tango Card is headed by David Leeds. The firm's service allows users to give people generic gift cards, which can later be converted into any kind of other gift card by the recipient.
