thePlatform Rolls Social Media Player

Seattle-based thePlatform, a developer of video publishing tools, announced today that it has unveiled a new social media player. The firm said its new player allows companies to embed and share their online videos across social networks, via an Adobe Flash video player. Sites supported by the media player are Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Digg, reddit, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Windows Live, Yahoo! Buzz, and Vodpod. thePlatform said the new media player includes features that preserve the financial obligations between content owners and advertisers, by allowing those content owners to continue to show advertising even if only clips and extracts of those videos are embedded on other sites.
