TrafficGauge Acquired By Wireless Navigation Firm

Seattle-based TrafficGauge, a developer of handheld, wireless devices for viewing real-time traffic, has been acquired by a developer of wireless navigation software. Networks In Motion, a Aliso Viejo, California-based firm developing wireless navigation and location based services software, said today that it acquired TrafficGuage, but not its hardware and services. According to Networks In Motion, it is buying TrafficGauge's staff to help the firm develop its next generation traffic sharing system. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Networks In Motion said the buy did not include TrafficGauge’s hardware devices business, customer base, service contracts or Web properties. TrafficGauge had launched a handheld hardware device in March of 2007 which allowed drivers in Seattle and other cities to view real-time traffic.
