TriQuint Gets Military Win

Hillsboro, Oregon-based TriQuint Semiconductor, a developer of RF front-end semiconductors, said Monday that the firm's devices have begun shipping into a radar system being produced by Lockheed Martin Radar Systems. According to Triquint, it has begun shipping production gallium arsenide (GaAs) MMICs as part of a system being developed for the U.S. Army. Financial impact of the win were not disclosed. TriQuint's chips are being used as part of a radar array systems for tracking mortars, artillery, and missiles on the battelfield. The system is part of the U.S. Army's Enhanced AN/TPQ-36 radar program; Lockheed Martin has a five year, $120M contract for the systems.
