TriQuint Wins CMP
Hillsboro, Oregon-based TriQuint Semiconductor said this morning that its has been chosen by Circuits Multi-Projects (CMP) as its Gallium Arsenide foundry services partner. CMP is a nonprofit which helps organizations access commercial foundries, via its prototype service. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. TriQuint will provide its GaAs foundry process technology to universities and small companies via CMP. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. CMP takes multiple projects from universities and other companies, and combines them onto a single wafer design--allowing many companies to take advantage of a single, expensive circuit run. TriQuint said CMP is using its TQP15 process.
