Verdiem: King County Cuts PC Energy Use Some 40 Percent

Seattle-based PC power management software maker Verdiem revealed today the results of a product deployment for a key client--King County, Washington. Verdiem said the county originally deployed Verdiem's SURVEYOR PC Power Management Software in October 2007. Since then, Verdiem claimed, King County's agencies have reduced energy consumption by an average of 38 percent. They've also eliminated more than 3 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions, Verdiem said, adding that King County has saved some $140,000 in PC energy costs. Verdiem is backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
