Vocus Buys PRWeb

Landham, Maryland-based Vocus, a provider of software for the public relations industry, said today that it has purchased Ferndale, Washington-based PRWeb for $28.0M. Vocus said that the transaction included $20.8M in cash, plus 494,543 shares of Vocus common stock. PRWeb is a provider of press release distribution services targeted at the public relations industry, with a focus on search engine optimization (SEO). Vocus said that it would integrate PRWeb into their product. Vocus said that PRWeb operations and staff will remain in Ferndale.
