Amazon Web Services Takes On Push Notifications With New Service

Seattle-based Amazon Web Services is expanding into the mobile, push notification area with a brand new service, the company said this week. Amazon said its new Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS) is a cross-platform, notification service which lets developers send notifications to Apple iOS, Google Android, and Kindle Fire devices. Push notifications are widely used by mobile app developers to send information between apps and to users.
