    DisplayLink Opens Seattle Office

Silicon Valley-based DisplayLink, a developer of USB networking chips and software, said Monday that it has opened up a new office in Seattle. The firm said the office will serve as a base for its network display software development, and will also support projects with area partners such as Microsoft and Intel. The firm -- which is venture backed by Atlas Ventures, Balderton Capital, Benchmark Capital, DAG Ventures, and DFJ Espirit--said the firm selected its Bellevue location because Seattle is a "hot spot" for software talent. The new office will be headed by Bernie Thompson, formerly a Software Development Manager at Microsoft.
