Google Launches Effort In Kirkland Around National Parks Access For Kids

Google said over the weekend, at an event at Google's Kirkland offices, that it is backing an effort to get more kids out to the nation's National Parks. According to Google, it is sponsoring the National Park Foundation's Open Outdoors for Kids Initiative, which gets around 1,700 kids around the nation out to national parks--many for their first time ever. Google announced the effort at a "campout" with Secretary Sally Jewell of the Department of Interior, which also included the participation of the Woodland Park Zoo, Pacific Science Center, National Park Service, Fish & Wildlife Service, REI and NatureBridge.
