Groundspeak Rolls Out Geocaching For iPhone

Seattle-based Groundspeak, which runs Geocaching.com, a directory of "geocache" locations across the world, said yesterday that it has added a iPhone application to Apple's iTunes store. The firm said the free application gives users of GPS-enabled iPhones with information about geocaches near their location, with directions to those geocaches. Geocaching is a game played by GPS enthusiasts, where players try to find outdoor hidden containers, and either swap or log the items in those containers. Groundspeak also offers a premium Geocaching application with more capabilities for $9.99.
