Madrona Funds Toy Robot Maker Play-I

Want to give your kids a head start in learning some software programming skills? Seattle-based venture capital fund Madrona has just backed a maker of robotic toys, which is aiming at teaching software techniques to kids as young as five years old. Play-I said that it has raised $8M in a Series A funding, which came from Madrona Venture Group and Charles River Ventures, to go to the company as-yet-unshipped robotic toys--aimed at helping children learn coding by playing with its robotic toys, which can be controlled via smartphone.
