Expedia Continues EMEA Expansion

Online travel booking agency Expedia Inc. reported today that it has established new distribution and marketing partnerships with hotels and tour operators throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The Bellevue, Wash.-based business also said it has ramped up its EMEA supply team to include almost 300 Expedia Partner Services Group employees in 14 offices throughout the region. As an example of its EMEA growth, Expedia noted that, since the beginning of the year, its base of hotels in Eastern Europe has increased by 44 percent, Italy by 40 percent and Spain and Portugal by 36 percent. Expedia said its international network now numbers 60 Expedia- and hotels.com-branded Web sites.
