iStockPhoto Hit By Phishing Scheme

iStockPhoto, the online, micro stock photography site owned by Getty Images, was the victim of a hacking attack Tuesday, which resulted in the site being pulled offline and users being required to reset their passwords. According to a message to the site's users, a phishing attack was used to create a fake istockphoto.com login screen, prompt a user for username and password, then redirected to iStockPhoto's main page. The firm said that no credit card information was lost from the hacking attack, because the firm does not store any financial information on the site. iStockPhoto was acquired by Getty Images in 2006; the site's services are used by graphic designers and others to find and use royalty-free photography.
