Mentor Graphics Buys Embedded Alley

Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics, a developer of electronic design automation (EDA) software, disclosed this morning that it has acquired Embedded Alley Solutions, which develops Google Android and Linux development systems. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to Mentor, it will combine Embedded Alley's products and services with its Mentor Graphics Nucleas real time operating system (RTOS). Embedded Alley's products are used for developing software on mobile devices which use Google's open source Android operating system or Linux as an operating system.
