Mentor Graphics Targets Embedded Android Development

Wilsonville, Oregon-based EDA software provider Mentor Graphics is approaching the Android operating system market, saying yesterday that it has delivered an Android Development Systems for developers using Texas Instruments' OMAP35X processors. Mentor said its software helps developers create Android-based applications on embedded devices, and specifically for use beyond mobile phone markets. Mentor Graphics said its Android Development System also runs on the BeagleBoard, a low-cost board targeted at open source development, which also uses TI's OMAP3530 processor.
