OpenMarket Launches SMS Ad Network

Seattle-based OpenMarket, a provider of mobile messaging and payment services, said today that it has launched a new SMS advertising service for its customers. The firm said the new service helps content providers monetize their content, inserting targeted ads into web and text-based messages. The firm is targeting providers of weather information, jokes, horoscopes, and sports alerts with the new service. OpenMarket is a unit of Amdocs.
