Coinstar: Redbox Hits One Billion Movie Rentals

Bellevue-based Coinstar reports today that its Redbox movie rental subsidiary has just delivered the one billionth movie rental. According to Coinstar, the milestone comes only six years after the debut of its Redbox kiosks. The firm said the billionth rental came from a location in Tampa, Florida, and launches a promotional effort to celebrate the billion rentals. The firm said Redbox now has over 24,000 locations nationwide.
