F5 Rolls Out New DNS Product

Seattle-based F5 Networks announced this morning that it has launched a new, carrier-grade Domain Name System (DNS) service product. According to the firm, the new product is aimed at communications service providers, to help them scale their DNS infrastructure more efficiently. F5 did not announcing on the new product. F5's new product includes a chassis-based system for handling DNS requests, can handle "millions" of DNS requests per second, and includes traffic management and high availability features. F5 said the system can handle more than 15 times the volume of traditional DNS servers.
