INRIX Powers Enhanced Traffic Routing for MapQuest Mobile Apps

Online and mobile mapping service MapQuest said over the weekend that it has enhanced both its iPhone and Android applications, and added real-time, traffic routing features to those apps. The new enhanced service is powered by traffic data from Kirkland-based Inrix. According to MapQuest, the new, enhanced applications now automatically check traffic conditoins and adjusts your route, based on what kinds of traffic congestion is detected on your way to a location, all using traffic data provided by INRIX. INRIX has been providing traffic data to MapQuest since 2010. Both of the MapQuest apps are free.
