Amazon.com's Price War With Overstock.com Takes A New Twist

The price war between Seattle's Amazon.com and fellow e-commerce company Overstock.com has taken a new twist, after Overstock.com said it will now price match Amazon--but also provide 15 percent in the price of book purchases, for future purchases at the site. Overstock.com said it will provide 15 percent value of book purchases to people who are members of its loyalty program, Club O, instead of its earlier 10 percent discounting from Amazon.com on any book. Overstock.com explained the move comes to "lessen any harm" to "mom-and-pop booksellers".
