doxo Signs Up Gas Utility

Seattle-based doxo, the operator of a service for handling and paying bills online, has signed up a new customer today, saying it has added Mountaineer Gas Company. Doxo said that Mountaineer Gas now lets its customers receive bills and other documents, organize their account information, and make payments via its online service, iPhone, or Android. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Doxo, which is led by Steve Shivers, is trying to bridge the gap between the number of people who still get paper statements, but pay their bills online. Paper bills are a major cost center for companies, who would prefer if their customers were billed and paid online. Mountaineer Gas Company is based in West Virginia, and serves approximately 220,000 customers.
